Why you should consider Costa Brava for your second holiday home
Congratulations
You’ve made a great choice!
So .., you’re tired of the gloom and cold of Northern Europe and are considering acquiring a second home in sunny Spain. Great choice! It’s a fantastic place to live. Mild temperatures, sun, great food and wine, pristine beaches, charming villages and lovely cosmopolitan cities offering everything you could possibly desire.
Although, taking the plunge to get there, does have its benefits, sometimes the complications that come with it can seem overwhelming.
Don’t despair!
All that paperwork, the legal issues and finding a place to live in the right area, all in a culture and language that you may not understand, can understandably seem a bit much, but I’m here to help.
I’ve been in that exact situation but many years ago, when Spain was way behind the rest of Europe. So I can emphasize with you and understand exactly what you’re going through.
The Costa Brava still seems to be somewhat of an unknown area to many foreigners although it is quickly becoming a ‘hotspot’ and taking over in popularity to the more traditionally known areas where foreigners have flocked for years.
The ‘Brave Coast’ as it is called is just that, rugged cliffs jutted with beautiful pine trees overlooking the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea where you can still find authentic ‘old world’ charm.

If you have chosen The Costa Brava to make your home, you’ve probably already done some homework and know that it is divided into two different areas;
Alt Emporda (Upper Emporda) which starts at the border with France and proceeds down the coast to La Escala …..
Baix Emporda (Lower Emporda) which starts just after L’Escala and continues down the coast till just past Playa de Aro.
Although both seem to be packaged together as the Costa Brava, Alt and Baix Emporda are very different as are the villages, homes, lifestyles and scenery that surround them. So, when considering moving to the area it would be wise to choose carefully depending on your lifestyle tastes.
So, If you’re considering a move to the sun, I’ll be giving helpful hints in order to make your new house your dream house. Whether it be assisting you to find the best property, remodelling tips for your home or the best places to visit or eat in the area, I’m here to make the transition of your move easier for you.
And, if you have any questions that I can help you with, please feel free to write with your inquiries.
